- Calcara succeeds Andrea Crespi, who takes on role of Vice President Sales and Service at Hyundai Motor Europe
Hyundai Motor Europe has announced the appointment of Francesco Calcara as the new President and CEO of its Italian subsidiary, Hyundai Motor Company Italy s.r.l., effective 2 September 2024.
Francesco Calcara brings a wealth of experience to his new role. After earning a degree in business administration and a master’s degree in economics from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, he built a distinguished career in the automotive industry. Calcara has developed deep expertise in sales & marketing, with a particular focus on the premium market segment.
His career began with international experience before he joined MAZDA Motor Italia in 2004 as Sales Area Manager. After two years, he advanced to the role of Fleet Business Development Manager. In 2007, Calcara moved to BMW Group Italia, where he spent ten years in roles of increasing responsibility. By 2013, he had been appointed National Sales Manager for MINI, and in 2016, he took on the role of Luxury Marketing Manager at BMW, overseeing the group’s luxury strategy in Europe and Italy.
In 2017, Calcara joined PSA Groupe Italie as DS Brand Director and was soon promoted to DS Managing Director and Vice President Sales & Marketing. Following the founding of Stellantis, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer for the Alfa Romeo brand. Most recently, he led Free2Move eSolutions as CEO, coordinating operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America to support all Stellantis brands.
With his extensive local and global automotive experience, Calcara will drive the company’s growth as President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company Italy. His main objectives include increasing Hyundai’s market share and brand volumes.

Calcara succeeds Andrea Crespi, who has led the company since 2013, initially as General Manager and, since September 2022, as the first Italian to serve as the subsidiary’s President. Crespi will now assume the position of Vice President Sales and Service at Hyundai Motor Europe, supporting Hyundai’s continued growth across Europe.
