Amazon will become one of the top 10 companies with the highest number of employees in the country, firmly on its way to achieving its pledge to permanently employ 25,000 people in Spain by 2025.

Amazon announced the creation of 2,000 new jobs in Spain in 2022, bringing its total workforce to 20,000 permanent employees. These include over 500 people in tech roles ranging from software developers, engineers, data scientists and machine-learning professionals through to cloud experts and solution architects for Amazon Web Services.

“We are incredibly proud to be able to continue offering such a wide variety of professional opportunities to thousands of people in Spain. But we want to go further: on one hand, we have pledged to permanently employ 25,000 people by 2025 and we are on the right path to achieve it; at the same time, we strive to become Earth’s best employer. What’s more, by the end of 2021, Amazon had contributed to providing jobs to well over 100,000 people in Spain including in indirect positions across its supply chain, such as in building, property and professional services, but also people working for the 12,000 Spanish SMEs that currently sell on Amazon’s stores. In the last couple of years, the company has created an average of more than 100 permanent jobs per week, all across the country, and all of them with competitive pay and a full benefits package from day one,” states Fred Pattje, director of Amazon Customer Fulfillment in Spain, France and Italy.
