  • Hyundai Motor Sweden established to better serve Swedish customers
  • Agency model to ensure transparent and consistent pricing nationwide
  • Transition from Hyundai Bilar Import AB to Hyundai Motor Sweden for closer customer contact and support through authorised agents and service workshops

Hyundai Motor Europe established its latest subsidiary and national sales company Hyundai Motor Sweden on 1 July 2024 with the aim of better serving customers in the country.

Hyundai Motor Sweden introduces a new business model through which Hyundai will conduct agent sales in the Swedish market. This means that customers buying a Hyundai starting 1 July will sign contracts directly with Hyundai. The dealer has taken on the customer-facing role of the company’s agent. An advantage of the agent model is transparent pricing, so Hyundais are priced the same regardless of where in the country it is purchased.

Hyundai’s vision is to provide mobility solutions in a socially and environmentally sustainable way. Therefore, it is natural to have our own local presence and increased focus in Sweden. We see Sweden as a progressive market and believe that Swedish consumers share our view on the value of new technology and innovation, especially when it comes to electrified mobility.

Michael ColePresident and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe

We feel positive about this transition. A national sales company allows us to act more in line with the needs and interests of Swedes; we will have closer contact with our customers and can offer car ownership that is smooth and easy with a continued comprehensive network of authorised agents and service workshops.

Jaehong KimPresident & CEO of Hyundai Motor Sweden

Hyundai Motor Europe is part of Hyundai Motor Group, which is ranked as the third-largest vehicle manufacturer globally and is leading the journey to electrified mobility with its award-winning electric cars, such as IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. On its way to becoming a smart mobility solutions provider, Hyundai is also engaging in solutions beyond being a car manufacturer: Together with its partners Boston Dynamics, Supernal, and Motional, the company is also developing innovations in robotics, urban air mobility (UAM), as well as robotaxis.

The transition in the Swedish market from the former import company Hyundai Bilar Import AB to Hyundai Motor Sweden took effect on 1 July 2024.
