  • Hyundai has announced a change to its leadership in key European market of Italy
  • Andrea Crespi, previously Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Company Italy, has been appointed as HMCI’s new President
  • Crespi takes over from Joon Seo Lee, who takes on a new assignment from Hyundai Motor Company

Hyundai has announced a change to the management in Italy, one of its key European markets. Andrea Crespi, previously Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Company Italy (HMCI), has been appointed as HMCI’s new President. Crespi takes over from Joon Seo Lee, who takes on a new assignment from Hyundai Motor Company.

Joon Seo Lee leaves HMCI for Hyundai Motor Company

Joon Seo Lee joined HMCI as President in May 2018, having previously led the commercial development of HMCI from 2011 to 2014. In his four-year term as President, Joon Seo Lee has contributed to HMCI’s sales success and accelerated its transformation to a digital customer experience. During his tenure, HMCI has developed from a pure car manufacturer to new service provider – including new ways of accessibility and financing with a pilot project in e-Commerce, renewed showrooms and an improved dealer network.

I would like to thank Joon Seo Lee for everything he has achieved in Italy and wish him well for his new assignment with Hyundai Motor Company. Over the past nine years, Andrea Crespi has played an active role in developing Hyundai in Italy, and I am certain that his new leadership will further extend the successes of his predecessor.

Andrea Crespi steps up as President of HMCI

Andrea Crespi was appointed as Managing Director of HMCI in April 2013. During his term, Crespi has overseen the brand’s consolidation in the Italian market in terms of share and volume, thanks to a constantly updated product range and an increasingly solid sales network. Meanwhile, in the past two years, he has built an advanced and solid digital customer experience organisation, accelerating the transformation of HMCI into a customer-centric company. He will start his new position on 1 September.

I am honoured to receive this appointment and I thank Hyundai Motor Company Italy for this new opportunity, as well as my team for their strong support and outstanding work. Together, we will further strengthen the Hyundai brand and extend its leadership in new and clean mobility solutions. We will strive to unlock our full potential to generate steady and healthy growth in order to meet the needs of our customers in Italy. I thank Joon Seo Lee, too, for his continuous support to the HMCI team throughout these years.
