ams OSRAM presents the next generation of LED retrofit lamps: OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART

ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS) has given its LED retrofit lamp a significant upgrade. The result is the new OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART. This latest generation is not only more powerful than its predecessor but thanks to its innovative compact design it enables even more vehicles to be easily and inexpensively converted from conventional halogen lamps to state-of-the-art, road-approved³ OSRAM LED technology. OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART is a replacement for the most popular H4 and H7 lamps and bases, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicle types – from cars and motorhomes to motorcycles. 

A few years ago, ams OSRAM, the market leader in automotive lighting, revolutionized the entire sector in Germany when it became the first manufacturer to launch a road-approved LED-based retrofit lamp for the German automotive market in the form of the OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED. This was followed by a number of additions to the successful product line. Now comes the latest, optimized generation which significantly extends the list of compatible vehicles, namely the OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART. Drivers in Germany and many other European countries can benefit from OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED technology in over 800 models from various manufacturers.

Brighter, more versatile, more durable – simply smarter
The latest generation of OSRAM LED replacement lamps is available in the most popular H7 LED and H4 LED headlight lamp types. They have been designed to be particularly compact so they can be easily installed in even more headlights, even very small ones. The range of vehicle classes compatible with replacing traditional lamps with OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART is therefore huge. Apart from cars, it includes motorhomes, vans, vintage cars, special-purpose vehicles, commercial vehicles, light trucks and even motorcycles. The street-approved³ retrofit lamps are setting new standards not only for compactness and compatibility but also for visibility, durability, reliability and safety. They deliver a modern bright white light with a color temperature of up to 6000 Kelvin, similar to that of natural daylight. Despite an impressive 330 percent higher brightness level¹, glare for other road users is up to 50% below the permissible maximum values?. The retrofit lamps also consume up to 60 percent less energy¹, last up to six times longer thanks to LED technology, have a specially developed vibration-resistant design1 and come with a guarantee of up to six years².

Lamp replacement: simple, inexpensive, quick
Upgrading from halogen to the OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART does not require any modifications to the vehicle so anyone with a reasonable level of competence can do it, or it can be done the next time the car is being serviced. 

ams OSRAM Automotive commits to sustainable packaging
ams OSRAM is working hard to improve sustainability by continually developing its products to achieve greater energy savings and longer service lives. In line with its commitment to the responsible use of finite resources, ams OSRAM Automotive has now also begun to replace the packaging for its entire retrofit lamp portfolio in the automotive lighting sector with eco-friendly alternatives. The new cartons are 100 percent plastic-free. They are made of recycled materials and are fully recyclable.
