- Stéphanie Maarek has been appointed Head of Compliance and member of the Group’s Executive Committee with effect as of 1 January 2023. She will report to Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, Director and Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas.
Stéphanie Maarek, Chief Conduct and Control Officer for Global Markets and CIB since 2017, will succeed Nathalie Hartmann, Head of Compliance and member of the Group’s Executive Committee since 2017. Nathalie Hartmann will become Advisor to the General Management and Director of various companies of the Group as of 1 January 2023.
“Since 2014, Nathalie Hartmann has made decisive contributions in building the Group’s integrated Compliance function, and served as Head of the function since 2017. Under her leadership, Compliance has continually reinforced our expertise in the different domains of non-compliance risks. I want to thank her in particular for her exemplary commitment and contributions to safeguarding BNP Paribas, which she will continue to do as Advisor to the General Management and Director of various companies of the Group. I am confident in the abilities of Stéphanie Maarek to take over from Nathalie Hartmann, to continue the Compliance function’s transformation and thus contribute, alongside the businesses of the Group, to the success of our GTS 2025 plan.” Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, Director and CEO of BNP Paribas.
