Nordics CEO at Alstom

“I am very pleased with the appointment of Guillaume Legoupil, who has a valuable set of skills and experience from our industry, deep understanding of the Finnish market and knows the Alstom way by heart,” says Rob Whyte, Nordics CEO at Alstom. “I am convinced that our Finnish business will develop in the best way under Guillaume’s leadership.”

Alstom has a long-time presence in Finland, supporting projects all over the world from Helsinki. Now, the newly appointed Managing Director sees important market growth potential.

“I am excited to take on this role and to me, it feels like being back home again,” says Guillaume Legoupil, who now has moved back to Finland from France. “Now the Finnish market is growing, and I am thrilled to ensure that our innovative solutions find their place in the Finnish market, as in the other Nordic countries – and this at a time when we urgently need to shift over to more green mobility.”

Alstom employs over 2,000 persons in the Nordics and is a key player in the Finnish railway market. The Alstom site in Helsinki hosts an engineering team, which is developing centralised train control systems for mainline and urban eco-systems. To date, Alstom has delivered 12 metro cars, 46 electrical locomotives, and over 50 trains in Finland, including the Pendolino high-speed trains.
